Embrace the future of container native storage with Azure Container Storage
Microsoft has announced the general availability of Azure Container Storage, the industry's first platform-managed container native storage service in the public cloud.
With Kubernetes driving cloud evolution, enterprises are moving from VMs to containers. Azure Container Storage provides best-in-class price performance for hosting stateful containers and delivers the lowest latency on locally attached storage.
Azure Container Storage integrates with Kubernetes and simplifies stateful workload management. It supports Ephemeral Disks (local NVMe and temp SSD) and Azure Disks. Built-in capabilities include snapshots and autoscaling.
Built-in resiliency: Zone-redundant storage (ZRS) or multi-zone storage pools. Security by default: Server-side encryption, network security. Streamlined management across Azure block storage offerings.
Azure Container Storage integrates with CloudCasa for migration and Kasten for backup and disaster recovery. Customers like KPN and Sesam have reported improved performance and lower costs.
New capabilities at GA: Performance tier options for local NVMe, improved PV recovery after AKS restart, replication support for local NVMe storage.
